These clients were building their forever home and wanted a custom design with character and detail that reflected their personal style. We helped them design and choose finishes throughout the house.
Project Details
This was a great design project to try some new ideas with a nod in the direction of BIG details. Hence the massive custom-built brick range hood. This hood was the jumping off point for our design and it set the tone for the colours, finishes and details for the rest of the house. The large island with its thick countertop, chunky posts and white oak accents echo the design and scale of the brick canopy hood. The Native Trails copper farm-sink is paired with rusty coloured hardware and farmhouse style pendent lighting. The finish of the island was chosen to coordinate with the colours in the brick, tying the kitchen finishes together and leaving the perimeter to be classic white and bright. We chose a panelled Subzero fridge for an integrated look. It blends into the cabinetry allowing the 36" wolf range and the brick canopy to be the focal point.
The impressive 5’ chandelier is the showstopper in this room.

The palette is carried throughout the home with a mix of pattern, texture and different materials gives the space the depth that it needs. The oversize gas fireplace is finished with the same brick and white oak detail as is used in the kitchen. A simple, white shiplap detail finishes the fireplace to the 18’ high ceilings in the living room. The impressive 5’ chandelier is the showstopper in this room, completing the theme of BIG details!
